GUB Game Sets

NOTE: If you have game piece sets from GUB 0.7.x or earlier, you'll need to re-download them if you update to version 0.8 or newer. The format of their files changed in version 0.8. The 0.7.x versions will be stored her temporarily, but will eventually go away.

GUB has the ability to load a game piece list plus any graphic (in GIF or JPEG formats) as a game board. Game piece lists are easily created with any text editor, and you can easily create your own [a game piece list editor is in the works]. Below is a list of available GUB game sets, each including graphics and (normally) game piece lists.. Please see the readme file in each one for information on the copyright of the material. Some sets are free or public domain, but others may have some restrictions on their use or distribution.

For normal game set installation instructions, please refer to INSTALL.html. The readme for each set may contain other instructions.

If you are interested in submitting a game set, please do! One of these days I will have a document explaining how they should be packaged. That's still in flux right now, though. Until then, please look at those provided. If you have further questions, send me an email and I'll help out.
If you do submit, please do not use copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder(s)! If you do happen to see any unauthorized copyrighted material in any game sets I have here, please let me know and I'll remove them immediately and try to notify the person who submitted them.

Backgammon (55k) Public Domain backgammon pieces and game board. This set duplicates the tiny round pieces that come bundled with GUB. When you unzip this one, it is safe to tell you zip utility to not overwrite existing files. This set will still work. After unzipping to the directory where GUB lives, load [GUB's Home]\data\backgammon\backgammon.small.pieces into GUB and you're set.

Checkers Checkers now comes bundled with GUB. Just load [GUB's Home]\data\chess\checkers.pieces into GUB and that'll do it.

Generic Pieces #1 (7k) OFFLINE. AWAITING UPDATE TO VERSION 0.8.x FORMAT.
Public Domain generic game piece graphics and piece lists. Include 4 pushpins, 4 basic round game pieces, a shrub, empty counters of various sizes, and 2 crosshairs.

GEV and Ogre I am currently awaiting permission to publish a game set for playing Ogre and GEV, both games by Steve Jackson Games. It's all ready to go, just awaiting the OK from the owner. (Please do not email me asking me to send this to you before I get permission to distribute it.)
